Is a work-from-home job that pays you to click or rate things a scam?
Very likely yes. If a "job" has you complete simple online tasks and then asks you to deposit your own money to "unlock" earnings, it is a task scam.
What it is
A fake remote job — often arriving by unexpected text or chat — that pays small amounts for repetitive "tasks," then requires you to put in your own money to keep earning, which you never get back.
How to spot it
You got the job offer out of the blue by text or messaging app.
The work is vague: rating apps, "optimizing" products, clicking tasks.
You have to pay or deposit money to continue or withdraw earnings.
Early tiny payouts are used to build trust before a bigger ask.
What to do
Never pay to get paid. Stop, don't deposit any money, and report the offer — a real employer does not require you to fund your own account.
When in doubt, slow down. A real credit union, business, or agency is fine with you hanging up and calling back on a number you look up yourself.
